Training

Generations Together provides training for its own programs and for programs developed by other agencies. Generations Together trains:
  • Professionals and volunteers in skills needed for successful implementation.
  • Local leaders in management skills which enable them to maintain their own program beyond the period of Generations Together's direct involvement. Local managers learn to conduct all aspects of their program, including continued training and participant support.
A major focus for Generations Together's training is the National Intergenerational Training Institute held each June on the University of Pittsburgh's main campus. Intergenerational practitioners come from across the United States to improve skills in program development, evaluation, and resource acquisition and utilization.
