Competency Development
Generations Together
is committed to professionalizing the intergenerational human services
field. To support this effort, Generations Together:

Collaborates with
other universities in reviewing competency-based courses designed to prepare
students to become professionals in the intergenerational field.

Convenes competency-based
training institutes to enhance the skills of practicing intergenerational
professionals.

Works with high school
faculty in developing curriculum experiences that prepare high school graduates
for intergenerational work.

Promotes the establishment
of uniform intergenerational performance standards by examining the competencies
common to successful practitioners.
