YISTE GENERATIONS |
YISTE is a program dedicated to developing programs that bring youth and older persons together in settings that promote mutual growth and which support the notion of the continuity of life.
YISTE provides individualized service to frail elders through the participation of students who serve as friendly visitors to elderly clients of the Living-at-Home Program at UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center). Friendly visiting activities include, but are not limited to, talking, reading and writing letters, going for walks or outings, watching TV, helping with errands, doing minor chores, and playing games.
